For anyone involved in the first all-dayer you will know we said the words ‘Matt Speer’ or ‘Musically Fresh’ in a hell of a lot of posts online. We are big fans of MusicallyFresh.com, but the deeper you dive into it you realise you’re just a fan of the man who runs the show.
We had a choice to work with Musically Fresh again, or support Matt on his new journey, because he currently isn’t busy enough, with Ear Nutrition. We feel Ear Nutrition fits to what we’re trying to do with the all-dayer and hope we can send some new regular readers in that direction.. but what the fuck is Ear Nutrition?
“My latest word-child would be Ear Nutrition – // Spare Time Audio Dieticians // a website that does what it says on the GDA label. I aim to cover the best in contemporary guitar-driven music from wherever I find it, from Indie to Punk, Pop-Punk to Post-Rock and way more! It’s a spare time venture but it’s something I live for on my days away from the grind.”
“Now what relevance does this have to Some Kind of Events and the second Liverpool Punk-Rock All-Dayer? Well last year Dean and Joe asked me to write the pre-show promos for the all-dayer with a couple of general pieces and one on each respective band playing that day. This was done via my first (and still running) website Musically Fresh (musicallyfresh.com) and not only was it thoroughly enjoyable the fact that I got to enjoy the festivities on the day was even better.”“It was laid back and full of great underground bands supporting each other as much as the patrons and fans were supporting them. That is what this is all about from the poppiest-Punk band to the most shredded modern Skate Punk and relentlessly paced Hard core.”
